Animation studio DLE Inc.'s "Secret Society Eagle Talon NEO" short anime series started its run in the United States on United Television Broadcasting Systems (UTB) Inc. on Dec. 21.
The company's foray into the U.S. market came one year after it established its U.S. arm, DLE America Inc., in December 2012. The venture in Silicon Valley was created to accelerate its operations in North America.
Founded in 1971 in Los Angeles, UTB is a Japanese-language broadcaster. Its aim is to share the Japanese culture through its programming and events, and serves as an information source for Japanese people living in the area.
UTB's programs air on Channel 18 KSCI-TV, which covers 16 million viewers in South California, with UTB being watched by over 3 million people.
The five-minute series, "Eagle Talon NEO" airs from 7:50 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturdays, from 11:50 a.m. to noon and from 10:25 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sundays.
DLE is also set to provide four more animated series, including "Panpaka-Pants."
Previously, DLE has teamed up with local companies in Taiwan and Thailand to air its titles.
The superhero parody "Secret Society Eagle Talon" Flash animation franchise became popular after it aired as part of "The Frogman Show" on networks affiliated with TV Asahi Corp. in 2006. "Eagle Talon NEO" hit the airwaves on Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK)'s Educational TV in 2012, with "Eagle Talon MAX" aired in 2013.
The fifth feature film adaptation, "Eagle Talon GO," was also released in 2013.
The comedy revolves around the "evil" Secret Society Eagle Talon whose aim is to take over the world.
